1. Duffy/Allpress Residence
Introducing the Duffy/Allpress residence, a 850m2 (9,200 sqft) luxury home situated at the acclaimed Millbrook Resort, Queenstown. Project360 has been selected to provide professional consultation, value engineering and quantity surveying.
The luxury home’s exterior is a selection of high grade natural materials, stone, cedar and copper with slate roofing, which is a Central Otago vernacular style native to this area. The interior features spacious, comfortable living and family areas, with each of the four bedrooms adjoining a private ensuite bathroom.
Beneath the architectural design is the latest in sustainable, energy-efficient technology, including geothermal heating and cooling, photovoltaics (PV) solar panels, and cutting edge insulation design.
Excavation of the basement level began in April 2016, which accommodates a media room and wine cellar. The concrete slab and external masonry walls were recently erected, which was quite a feat of engineering.
The home is designed by Queenstown architect Michael Wyatt Architects with structural engineering services provided by Holmes Consulting. Neil Slater of Michael Wyatt Architects is overseeing design and construction on behalf of the client.
Summerhill Construction brought this luxury residential development to Project360’s attention, requesting a competitive tender on their behalf which resulted in Summerhill Construction securing the project. Project360’s role is to support Summerhill Construction during the construction process, manage day to day costs and variations, and provide the client monthly updates including progress reports and administering the more detailed construction programme, ensuring everyone involved is on track and within budget.
Project360 coordinates communication between contractors and the architect who is also Project Manager. We participate in fortnightly on-site meetings with all parties involved in the current stage of work. This is essential to addressing issues as they arise, it also ensures everyone is apprised of next steps and the project remains on schedule. These and other processes underscore Project360’s commitment to saving clients time and money.
We will continue to update you over the next year and a half as this amazing home transforms from a hole in the ground to one of the most spectacular properties adjoining Millbrook’s championship golf course. Throughout this journey we will share insight into how Project360 takes these projects from concept to completion, with input from our team of architects, engineers, building contractors and clients.
Stay tuned for our next blog discussing the unique engineering techniques employed for this project, the home’s level of detail and stunning interior finishes.
